Dana Ellyn
Dana creates art work that shows what she is seeing and what she feels is happening in the world as she creates the painting that has people in it that is eating the animals that has just been slaughters she paints animals that still has the head to show what you are actually eating. She creates work to try and get people to turn vegetarian or vegan.
When I come to painting my photos, I would like to paint them in a way she has to show the trauma in the animal’s face and to show what the animals are feeling and to show how the artists sees the animals. I want to produce inspiring artwork that makes people change their attitudes towards animal rights.
The way she paints the people is in an unrealistic view and in a tone that the human is a deadly person and scary as this is demonstrated by the way she paints the emotions and expressions on the people’s faces. In each painting she strives to add more emotion in each painting. Ellyn produces her work to add a bit of humour, this is also to show that art has a humour to it. I like that in her work you can see that she is voicing her opinions through her art. When she was 15 she didn’t know that veganism and not eating meat was a choice I think the painting when the child is playing with the meat is a signifier to her own life as she played with her meant and needed well done before she ate it. Also, it could show children and show young people that not eating meat is an option and to show where the meat actually came from before eating it.
