Bong Joon Ho                 OKJA

 FILM                   VS.        REAL LIFE

Okja is a movie that has been created about the slaughtering of animals, I feel as this movie can back up and inspire me to create my video of animal cruelty. I think this movie has been created to let the general public of the world see how animals are treated before and when they go together slaughtered.

this film reveals slaughtering, the hanging of animals and testing on animals.

Bong Joon ho create this to show the fast food industries, this movie was set in America to show that Americans don't care where the meat comes from and how it gets killed. From the making of the movie Bong hated the idea of animal slaughtering and said:“When I returned from Colorado to New York [where some of ‘Okja’ was shot], I felt like the smell was following me there.”http://www.indiewire.com/2017/06/okja-bong-joon-ho-vegan-1201839076/

In this film, it shows that there can be a bond between human and animal, also that animals can adapt and act like humans. this links with problems that are happening in the world today such as testing on animals for cosmetic purposes or monitoring animals behavior with tags or chips in the animal's flesh. The pig in this film was pushed in tight containers to get shipped away also the animal was chained up.

This movie was grotesque and raised awareness for an animal in different categories like testing and la experiments trying to recreate animals. Also breeding there was a scene in the movie where they were breeding the animals inhumanly they forced upon the animals. A lot of the animals were squeezed in tight spaces like battery farming of chickens when they are raised in small coops. The temperature was high in the cages and force feeding them to gain weight to gather more meat products to sell.  They were also electrocuting animals if the slaughter didn't like what they had done this is torturing the animal and would kill the animal slowly.

I think this movie tries to export a lot of ideas to humans to try and get them to stop eating meat because of how the animals are treated. the will influence my work because I also want to look at how animals are kept in small enclosures.
