In this topic of work I want to create ideas that relate to hospitals and can be made in a hospital, this can be a public piece that would impact the people who visited the hospital for example if younger children visiting family then its less daunting.  I am interested in this topic because, throughout my life, I had to visit my cousin when she was younger in the children's ward when she was diagnosed with a serious illness. When visiting the walls were all bland and stripped of life like the patients on the ward I want to create a mural with feeling and make children in hospital belief and to make them happy, also to forget their illness.

For my idea of making a mural, I could make this of the children thoughts and memories then act upon them by making them into a story, children have never been outside so only know the hospital walls and only know their next medication time.For this to happen I am going to have to visit a wide range of children wards and talk to children about their thought process.  

When thinking of this idea I wanted to research and look into artists that create art that is based upon children and that they make the art for such as Beatrix Potter is the main artists that will help me, also when I think of my childhood I can always remember the stories that she made about Peter Rabbit, I like all the drawings and sketches she makes of the animals before producing them. 

Another inspirational famous writer and artist are A.A Milne who created the famous Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh stories, I like the way the ideas came to him by watching his son and how he played and interacted with his teddies this inspires me to watch children thought process to make art upon them. 

In this assignment I will measure my success through creating the art and assessing how the work has developed over time. I will do this through, looking at the ideas I had and how they have changed throughout the completion of the art piece. I aim to measure how my work has changed the children’s happiness while in hospital, I could do this through talking to patients and parents of the patients to understand how it has changed their outlook while in hospital and see if it has offered any inspiration to them while they are staying there.
